In November we were fortunate to host 33 friends and friends of friends on a delightful cruise from Venice to Athens. Thanks again to those of you who joined us on the wonderful trip. Since then, we have discussed the possibility of again hosting a trip, one based on the feedback we’ve received and our personal interest. We heard that people enjoy Europe during an off-peak time, the intimacy of a small ship, and the interest in culture, history, and sights. We also heard that many would prefer a more inclusive trip with sightseeing, all drinks, gratuities, etc. included. Some would prefer an inland (smooth) cruise and not on the open sea.
Many of you know our love of European river cruises. Our first river cruise in Europe was Holland and Belgium at Tulip Time. It’s one we remember fondly as a wonderful experience.
With this in mind, we will host a spring 2020 9-night river cruise from Amsterdam to Antwerp. We have selected March 28 to April 6, 2020, on Uniworld. Many of our river cruises have been on Uniworld and we love them. They are among the highest quality lines in Europe with a low guest to staff ratio and the River Duchess holds only 130 passengers where other lines may carry 40 more.
As with last year, we picked a popular itinerary and time and some April sailings are already filling in certain categories. We want one where we can get 10 or more staterooms committed before the ship fills and we would no longer be able to accept people.
With that in mind, we will hold a get-together at Doug’s office, The Exchange Business Suites, at 212 S. Main Street in Goshen (above Menno Travel) on Friday afternoon, April 5, at 4:00 pm. We invite anyone (and friends of theirs!) to hear about the enjoyment of river cruises in general and about Uniworld and our specific itinerary from Anne Mickey, the Midwest rep for Uniworld. Of course, Sharon will prepare some snacks and there will be soft drinks and adult beverages as well.
